Screaming in Digital - Issue 93
June 28th, 1993Editor’s Notes
Hello again, everyone! This is it for June. To the US
subscribers, enjoy your Independence Day weekend, and if you’re
in Tucson AZ, look for me. As I mentioned in the last issue, I
will try to get the next issue out on schedule. If travel and
the holiday interfere, I’ll get it out as close as I can.
For a change, I’ve heard a progressive band that nobody here told
me about first! I went to a concert and one of the openers was
a band called Echolyn. They’re not prog-metal, so I won’t say
much here, but I liked them and suspect they’d appeal strongly
to fans of Yes and Styx and Kansas and Rush. Look for them around
Philadelphia.
Since I’ll be out of state, I won’t be using postal mail
for a few weeks, so if you’ve mailed me anything and are
expecting a response, it’ll be either real soon, or in late July.

Greetings, and welcome to the summer of 1993. In this
issue - new stuff, old stuff, other stuff. And yeah, I know,
another summer without a tour. An air-conditioner failure here
already nicely simulated that smelly, sweaty mosh-pit feeling,
though.
Although Queensryche won’t be touring this summer, I’ll
be doing quite a bit of traveling myself. In early July, I will
be driving from Arizona to New Jersey, and late July and August
may find me on the road again. Why am I telling you this? It
might affect the scheduling of the digest. I’ll try to continue
getting them out each Monday, but if I can’t, I’ll either send
them a day or two early, or a day late. Just so you know!

Welcome back! To the US fans - Happy Flag Day. To Chris
DeGarmo and Scott Rockenfield, happy 30th birthday! Have some
cake and ice cream, everybody.
I’ve updated the FAQ (/pub/queensryche/FAQ on the FTP
site at glia.biostr.washington.edu) to reflect the current state
of things regarding Queensryche. If anyone’s requested it from
me through mail and has not received it, please contact me at
queensryche-owner@pilot.njin.net and I’ll send you the latest
version. Of course, if you can use FTP, that’s the best way.
For those who’ve been keeping track of these things, I
picked up the t-shirts Wednesday, and mailed all that had been
paid for on Thursday and Friday. Shirts will be shipped to 15
other people when payment is received - if you think you might
be one of them but aren’t sure, mail me! Any checks or money
orders should be made out to Dan Birchall. As I mentioned last
week, if you didn’t order one, it’s too late now for this time
around, but if there’s enough interest I might get some more made
in the fall semester.
Odd request: Any readers in the Houston area, e-mail me.

Welcome to June! More reactions to the new song Real
World in this short issue, along with some information on the
next album.
For those who ordered T-shirts, the screen-printers tell
me they should be done by the middle of this week, so I’ll be
starting mailing in the second half of the week. Again, sorry
for the delays. For those who didn’t order them, it’s too late
now, but maybe I’ll get a small batch done in the fall.
If anyone wants to send birthday cards to Chris DeGarmo
or Scott Rockenfield at the fan club address above, now would be
a good time to do it - their birthdays are next week.
